GEOINT, using modern software, allows intelligence analysts to analyze and display geospatial information in new and evolving ways in order to provide intelligence and planning support for operations and missions. GEOINT is intelligence derived from the exploitation and analysis of imagery and geospatial information about features and events, with reference to space and time. Data sources for GEOINT include commercially available imagery collected by satellites and aircraft, existing mapping data and databases, and can also include information by collectors (Soldiers) on the ground.
