ANDSF Roadmap

In early 2017 the Resolute Support Mission and Afghan government developed a plan to professionalize the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces (ANDSF) and bring an end to the long-running conflict with the Taliban and other insurgent groups.

The ANDSF Roadmap is focused on increasing the size and capability of the Afghan Special Security Forces (ASSF) and the Afghan Air Force (AAF). In addition, it will improve the leadership of the ANDSF, create increased unity of effort between the Ministry of Interior (MoI) and Ministry of Defense (MoD), and reduce corruption within the defense ministries.
