Enduring PartnershipNATO announced on May 13, 2015 that it plans to stay in Afghanistan beyond 2016. While the mission will have a military and security component it will be led by civilians. The mission's name will be "Enduring Partnership". The size of the mission will be much smaller than the current "Resolute Support" mission. The mission primary focus will be to train and assist the Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF). The United States component of this mission will likely be around 1,000 personnel.
