The Security Force Assistance Command or SFAC was established at Fort
Bragg, North Carolina in 2018. It had Security Force Assistance
Brigades under its command. The SFAC was a one-star command that provided
for training and readiness oversight. With the aim to modernize the
Department of Defense into a more 'lethal' force, the Trump
administration gutted the U.S. Army's advisory capacity. The SFAC and
its six SFABs were elimininated in 2025 and early 2026.
