The newly published (July 2014)
Resolute Support Security Force
Assistance Guide 3.0 is now available online. The guide provides
guidance to nations and Coalition forces, units, and advisors for
implementing the new ISAF focus on functionally-based Security
Force Assistance or SFA and provides information on the 8
Essential Functions.
The guide will be useful to advisors and
mentors working with the Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF) at
all levels from the tactical unit level all the way up to the
ministerial level. The inclusion of numerous annexes provides
information on process maps, the ANSF, acronyms, and a
bibliography. The guide can be read online or downloaded at the
links below.
